Founders & Freelancers Meetup in London

Going it alone doesn't mean doing it alone.

Being a founder or freelancer can be a lonely experience. You've got big decisions to make, have to keep the confidence of your clients, and sometimes pretend everything's fine on LinkedIn when it really isn't…

The Founders & Freelancers Meetup is a monthly networking event in London for people building something outside of conventional employment: whether that's a startup, a freelance practice, a side hustle, or something that doesn't have a name yet.

No pitching. No agenda. No hollow networking. Just good people, honest conversation, and a business card bowl to make sure you leave with at least one new meaningful connection.

Who comes?
Founders, freelancers, and the self-employed. People who are quietly ambitious, genuinely building something, and looking for peers rather than an audience.

The format:
Doors open at 7PM at The London Art Bar. At 8PM there's an optional chance to share a current challenge or screw-up with the group - entirely voluntary, but you might be surprised how useful it is. Networking continues until 9PM.

FAQ:

  • Is this just another networking event?
No. This is deliberately relaxed. No name badges, no elevator pitches, no speed networking. Just people who are building something, in a room together.

  • Do I need to have a registered business?
Not at all. If you're freelancing, side-hustling or just figuring it out, you're welcome.

  • How much does it cost?
Tickets are £5 - a small commitment that goes a long way. Concession tickets available on request at hello@garethlewis.co.
